Overview & Highlights

Welcome to Margherita Briancon, a delightful Italian restaurant located in the heart of Briancon at 9 Rue Centrale. Whether you're skiing in the nearby mountains or strolling through the charming streets of this historic town, Margherita Briancon is the perfect culinary oasis for lovers of authentic Italian cuisine.

As you step inside, you'll be greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere—an ideal setting to enjoy a meal with family or friends. The rustic yet modern decor creates a cozy ambiance, complemented by friendly staff who are eager to ensure your dining experience is unforgettable.

The menu is a true celebration of Italian flavors, showcasing a variety of popular dishes that will transport your taste buds straight to Naples. The star of the show is undeniably the Neapolitan-style pizzas, featuring a light, airy crust that is perfectly charred in their wood-fired oven. Customers rave about the Steppen Pizza, bursting with rich flavors when complemented by just the right amount of sauce, as shared by a satisfied patron—James B. This pizza exemplifies the perfect balance of toppings and crust, promising a slice that is both satisfying and memorable.

For those looking to indulge in pasta, the ravioli filled with burrata is a must-try, doused in a luxuriously creamy Gorgonzola sauce, as highlighted by Anne Mader-Horne in her review. Each bite is a heavenly experience, enriched by walnuts that add a delightful crunch. And let’s not forget the enticing four cheese gnocchi and the authentic carbonara—dishes that elicit compliments from returning visitors, including ski holiday aficionados.

While the food is undoubtedly the star, the service has also won hearts, with many patrons applauding the attentiveness of the staff. Manuel, one of the welcoming servers, consistently receives praise for making diners feel well taken care of, adding a lovely personal touch to the overall experience.

However, like any establishment aiming for excellence, there are a few critiques worth noting. Some guests have pointed out the need for a clearer checkout process after meal completion, highlighting the need for upfront clarity regarding payment procedures—a small detail that can enhance the overall dining experience.

Whether you're seated under the sun or shaded in the town square, Margherita Briancon is a gem worth visiting. From delicious pizzas to hearty pastas, each dish is prepared with passion and authenticity. As Peter Swann noted, their Diavola pizza strikes the perfect balance of spice and flavor, making it a favorite among locals and visitors alike.

Next time you find yourself in Briancon, make sure to stop by Margherita Briancon—where every meal is an invitation to indulge in the rich culinary traditions of Italy. With reasonable prices and a bustling atmosphere, it promises to leave you with a full belly and a happy heart.

Amazing! Tasty Neapolitan style Pizza and very nice atmosphere inside. I would recommend the Steppen Pizza but to ask for more sauce as it was quite dry, once I added the extra sauce it was delicious. Our server Manuel was excellent, very attentive and friendly. Will definitely be back next time we are here!

Excellent food and friendly service. We had three dishes here - ravioli filled with burrata and served with a Gorgonzola cream sauce and walnuts; a faux filet (sirloin) with fries; and a pizza with ham. All three were delicious! The waiter was very accommodating and brought us everything we asked for very quickly (bread, oil & vinegar, etc.) I ordered a Prosecco which was very good and came in a large glass! The restaurant was busy and brightly lit, so maybe not the most romantic setting, but absolutely perfect for families and groups of friends.

I enjoyed my pizza. Bit bizarre paying at the counter, we were sat there for ages after asking for the bill. No one told us that we had to pay at the counter.

Came here a few times whilst on a ski holiday. Definitely one of the more readonly priced restaurants hence it's probably so busy. Staff were really nice and service was quick. Food was tasty, we tried the 4 cheese Gnocchi, carbonara (which appeared authentic) and calzone. Only thing is the pizza oven is closed Mondays and if it's really busy mains from the kitchen will come out a while before pizzas. Would definitely recommend for an easy and quick dinner which will leave you warm and content

Saturday lunch in an idilic setting in the town square. Mix of sun and shaded tables. Friendly waiters. But best of all fantastic pizzas ! Diavola was perfect, just spicy enough, with heaps of cheese and a light base. Calzone No 1 was filled with so much ham mushroom and cheese filling and again a great pizza dough. Cocktail and a large beer for around 45 euros. Left full and happy….

A nice building in a good setting, with tasty food and friendly service. Very popular and busy. Also seems very popular for take-away pizza. However, I’m holding back one star, because my beer was served in a plastic cup. …Plastic! Come on! This is a restaurant, not some festival, and I’m not an animal!

Got a bit fed up of the hotel food - so visited here twice. I ordered pizzas and they were authentically prepared and tasted great. Some of our friends ordered pasta dishes and they looked superb. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. They managed to fit seven of us in with no reservation. It's get very busy here so get here early or book ahead of time.
